Day 1 Part 3 QIIME2 Tutorial with Kristin Yoshimura!!!

Welcome to the C-DEBI/EBICS/BEACON Introduction to Bioinformatics for Metagenomics Microbiome Analysis. This is a multiple part, 2-day workshop indeed to guide scientists without any computational expertise through the process of working with biological data and ultimately working with metagenomic data to reconstruct and analyze microbial genomes.

Virtual machine install instructions:
*Minimum operating system requirements: 60 GB free storage and 4 GB RAM (3GB to run a virtual machine, 1GB to maintain laptop functionality).
*Login for virtual machine timeout = workshop

1. Download Oracle Virtual Box and the Virtual Machine (*note: this 13 GB file may take over 1hr to download, depending on your connection speed)
2. Open Virtual Box. File - Import Appliance (*note: import may take 10-30 min)
3. Start " Workshop" from the Virtual Machine interface. This will open the VM window, which contains icons to launch a terminal window and Google Chrome.
*Known issues: Some individuals using Windows 10 computers may continually get an error trying to activate the workshop instance in VirtualBox. This generally appears as a warning about not being able to find a 64-bit option. Please re-start your system, enter the BIOS boot system, manually turn on "Allow Virtualization", and then try to launch the VM again.
*Known issues: If you receive any error that mentions 'ERR_DISK_FULL' it indicates that you have not opened up enough hard drive space for the VM.
*Known issues: Mac OSX High Sierra requires a systems permission approval when trying to install Virtual Box.
