How to Band (Castrate) a Goat
ChannelHafen AcreDescription from the creator
Banding two goats with an Elastrator and showing progress about a week after a band. Also showing healing after disbudding.
We are making the bucklings into wethers for their new owners. The kids are 5 weeks old ( Pygmy/Nigerian Cross). Everything I've read said to wait at least 4 weeks so their urethra develops and helps prevent stones. They make some noise for a very short time, walk slightly different for a few hours, and later in the day they are back at it like normal.
