How to Bow in & Present for a Karate Tournament (Kata or Weapons)

This is how Lions Karate students will / should enter the ring for tournaments. There is A LOT of respect & bowing that takes place, and it needs to be done properly. This is a great training tool for practicing at home - for Lions Karate students & from other students. For a weapons division, simply say the name of the weapon kata in place of the empty hand form.

This also helps to explain why some students get docked points for their sloppy ring presence, weak presentation, or disrespectful bowing.

"Judges, my name is ___________, my school is ________, with your permission may I perform __________?"

Some instructors say the school is not important, however, Lions Karate students will say it in their presentation, as that is how Mr. Hanford was originally taught from his instructor.
