building a foundation for a tiny home. taking inspiration from homesteaders of the past.

we didn't decide to start filming until about halfway through this project. we gathered stone from the creek, dug holes 2-3 feet deep and filled with large stones and concrete. the piers were built one course at a time using mortar, then filling with concrete. once the shortest pier was tall enough, the others were built up to that height using a string level. rough square was marked before digging the holes and a more precise square marked on top of the piers.
