Please Subscribe!! This video provides a step by step description on how to build a potato cannon along with the tools and materials required.
Materials Required:
-A saw
-2' of 2" Diameter Schedule 40 PVC Pipe
-2' of 3" Diameter Schedule 40 PVC Pipe
-PVC Primer and Cement
-A Ruler
-A Sharpie
-3/4" Threaded Ball Valve
-2ct. 3/4" Iron or Steel Nipples (At least 2" long)
-2ct. 3" Diameter Schedule 40 PVC End Caps
-A File
-Teflon Tape
-Locking Pliers (Often Called a Wrench)
-2ct. 2" to 1.5" Reducing Bushing/Adapter
-2ct. 1.5" to 3/4" Threaded Reducing Bushing
-A Bike Pump Valve (I got one off an old bike inner tube)
Disclaimer: I cannot be responsible for any injuries or damage caused by the potato cannon that you create. Plastic under pressure can be dangerous. That is why only Schedule 40 PVC should be used because it is meant to handle the amount of pressure being applied. Do not apply more pressure than the PVC's max pressure and to be safe no more than half of that recommended pressure should be applied. For extra safety the air reservoir can be wrapped in three layers of duct tape to minimize shrapnel that can be launched should the reservoir explode.
This cannon can be modified to fit the builders needs, so it is possible to used different sized pieces to create different ways of launching projectiles.
