How to change a fluorescent tube (both types)

PLEASE TURN OFF THE POWER IF YOU HAVE A SPRING LOADED FITTING, IF YOU ARE UNSURE WHAT YOU ARE DOING THEN PLEASE CONTACT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN

You will first need to check if your fitting has a starter (they are found in different places on the fitting itself), if it does have a starter then twist it anti clockwise to remove, if your fitting is 5 foot or shorter then you will need an fsu starter. If it is longer than 5 foot then you will need an fs125 starter. If you have tried changing the starter and the light still does not work then you will need to change the tube, to do this follow the instructions in the video. There are two different types of tube which are the same, T8 and T12, T12 are the older tubes which have been phased out. They do not sell T12 tubes at most stores anymore, this means you will have to buy a T8 tube, these tubes are more energy efficient, are brighter and have a better colour rendering.
If your fitting does not have a starter then you can still try changing the tube for a T8 tube, however it may not work properly, if this happens I would recommend that you contact a qualified electrician for further advice
