Description from the creator

I changed the oil and oil filter in my 2004 KIA Optima (2.7 liter, six cylinder). I also took a few minutes to teach my daughter how to change the air filter. This oil change was a little more complicated than changing my wife's oil just because I needed to jack the car up and put it on jack stands before I could fit underneath. Aside from that, it was fairly easy.

---------- Tools ----------
- 17mm wrench or socket
- oil filter wrench
- drain pan
- new oil (I used 5 quarts of 5W-30 Motorcraft synthetic blend oil)
- new oil filter (I used the Mobil 1 M1-108A filter)
- new air filter (I used the Fram CA-8766 filter)
- rags
- floor jack
- jack stands
- wheel chocks
