Once you removed dentures, it is important that you wash the entire denture adhesive that is stick on it on the inside. Brush denture with hot water and toothpaste.
You can put dentures in ice water. Once adhesive hardens, you can pluck off denture adhesive.
You don’t necessarily need to buy expensive denture cleansers. You can clean dentures at home using-
Vinegar and water: Take an equal quantity of vinegar and water and soak dentures in the solution for 10 minutes to half an hour. Always use a moist soft bristle brush to clean your denture, dry bristle brush may form scratch on the polished surface of a denture. You will find not only clean denture but even stains and plaque are removed.
Baking soda and water: Put one teaspoon of baking soda in 8 ounces of water, soak dentures for half an hour and rinse it thoroughly.
Baking soda and glycerin: make your own toothpaste using glycerin, baking soda, and salt. Make sure to take finely grounded salt. You can even add mint or essential oil to flavor it.
Antibacterial detergent or soap: if you don’t have any of the above ingredients, you can simply clean dentures by brushing with antibacterial detergent or liquid soap with warm water.
Cleaning only is not enough; you should disinfect it to stop bacterial growth.
