How to clean faux suede/polyester curtains that says dry clean only.

These faux suede/polyester curtains that otherwise say dry clean only can be handwashed in warm water and ironed once dry with a low heat setting iron.

I am using washing up liquid and bicarbonate of soda as the only two cleaners needed.

Faux suede picks up grime very quickly and especially on crease points and as they touch the ledge of a window.

You will waste your money taking them to dry cleaners as they won't clean the grime off that needs hand rubbing to remove.

Eyelet curtains can be washed in an washing machine if they are tied up, but for these faux suede I wont risk it as I am not sure of the outcome.

You can iron them after they have dried.

You can also hang them out, but the washing line needs to be clean before you hang them as faux suede will pick up any dirt on the line.
