How to create real estate flyers with Canva

This video shows how to create real estate flyers using Canva.

To get started, head over to Canva.com and create a free account, or log in to an existing account.

1. Find the ‘Real Estate Flyer’ design template on the top of the home page and select it to start your flyer.

2. Browse through their templates on the left hand side and find the template that will best showcase your property. You’ll notice some have a distinctly urban or country feel, so choose the design that coordinates with the style of your listing.

3. Let’s start adding images. Click ‘Uploads’ on the left hand side of the page, then choose ‘Upload your own images’. Choose the images you would like to include on your flyer from your computer, and upload them into Canva.

4. When your images are uploaded, you can start placing them in the flyer. Just double click an image to select it, then drag your image from the left column into the space. After placing the image, you can double click it and drag it around until it’s cropped the way you’d like it, then hit the checkmark to save these adjustments.

5. Once your images are placed, you can pick some background colors to coordinate with the images. Just select the colored portion of the flyer, then a color palette will come up. Hit the plus button to add a custom color. You can adjust the hue until you find the perfect color.

6. All of the text on a Canva design is editable, so you can change it to fit your listing. Just select any of the existing text, and type in what you’d like to change it to. When text is selected, you can also change the font, size, and color of the text to your liking. Add in some property details like the address, bedrooms and bathrooms, stand out features, or open house information on your flyer.

7. Once your flyer is complete, you can give it a name by selecting the ‘Private’ button in the top right. Then, you can share the flyer easily to Facebook or Twitter with the ‘Share’ button. If you would like to print the flyer, just hit ‘Download’ and save as either as an image or PDF. You can easily print, post, or share this flyer wherever you’d like!
