How to Deal With A Jealous Partner in your relationship.

A relationship advice question I get asked a lot by women is "Mark, how do I deal with jealousy in relationships? What do I do if my boyfriend is jealous?"

Giving relationship advice to women on how to handle a jealous partner is a really important part of being a dating and relationships coach. Jealousy is an emotion that can cause an enormous amount of tension and resentment in a previously happy relationship, leaving a rift between two partners that can lead to the end.

Worse, feelings of jealousy often get mistaken for feelings of love. While jealousy in relationships can be instinctual and normal, acting on it - in ways that unnecessarily inhibit your partner - is the furthest thing from healthy love in a relationship.

When a woman comes to me saying "Mark, my partner is overly jealous. What should I do?" my first thought is "I'm glad this woman is aware enough that she recognised the problem and was able to ask the question. That's a great first step". However, my second thought is "I hope HE is able to recognize it and acknowledge it too... because if he can't, her relationship could be in trouble."
