Description from the creator

It’s no secret that the Taekwondo kicks are what really makes it unique. In Korean, kicks are called “chagi,” and can be executed in a number of different ways. These include kicks at different heights, jump kicks, spin kicks, and combinations of these. In this article, we will go over some of the different kicks you will come across in Taekwondo and what they are called. Please note that some of these kicks are meant for different situations. Some will be more practical in self-defence situations, and others are more for competitions. So, in this video i will show basic kicks like,

1.) Axe kick
Axe kick ia also called as "Hammer kick".The axe kick can be characterized as a whip-like kicking movement during leg lift and an axe-like movement during the downward drive of the heel or the ball of the foot. The axe kick is most useful when an opponent is open in the upper body region.
2.) Outside Axe Kick .
Another kick that has increased in popularity due to sparring competitions. The leg is raised usually from the outside of the body like an outside crescent kick, then the leg is pulled down with the heel pointed downward.
3.) Inside Axe kick.
In the same manner this kick is also popular in sparring. The leg is raised from outside to inside and hit on the head .
4.) Front kick.
The front kick in martial arts is a kick executed by lifting the knee straight forward, while keeping the foot and shin either hanging freely or pulled to the hip, and then straightening the leg in front of the practitioner and striking the target area.
5.)Round house kick.
A roundhouse kick is a kick in which the practitioner lifts their knee while turning the supporting foot and body in a semicircular motion, extending the leg striking with the lower part of the shin and/or the instep (top of the foot) the ball of the foot can also be used to strike the target and is preferable when power breaking thick boards. This type of kick is utilized in many different martial arts and is popular in both non-contact and full-contact martial arts competitions. The kick has many variations based on stance, leg movement, striking surface, and the height of the kick.
6. Hook kick.
A hook kick (also called Hooking kick) is a kick that strikes the target with a hooking motion. The hook kick strikes with the heel of the foot (or with the flat of the foot in sparring), from the side of the target .
7. Side kick.
A Side Kick (also Side Piercing Kick, yeop chagi ) is performed by turning the body sideways with the hip turned slightly over; chamber the kicking leg diagonally across the body, then extend the leg in a linear fashion toward the target.
