Hi, my name is David P. Shapiro. I'm the owner and managing partner at the Law Office of David P. Shapiro, located in San Diego, California. My firm helps good people regain control of their future when charged with a crime. Quick video here about how to dress and how to act in court. And this applies in the middle of the coronavirus just as much, in my opinion, if not more so than it did before. Because, in all likelihood, through the better part of the summer of 2020, all court appearances, at least criminal court appearances, is going to be held through Microsoft Teams. And what we've learned, in the past two and a half months or so, since this coronavirus has gone on, is that people have really dropped the ball, in a large degree, how they're dressing for court, how they're acting on something like Microsoft Teams. And that's something you want to be aware of because you don't want to make those mistakes.

So, you have a court appearance, you're out of custody, on bond. You have a court appearance. You show up in your attorney's office, late June, July, to do a Microsoft Teams court appearance. Dress appropriately. Dress as if you're going to court. In our firm, we request that our clients wear a collared shirt or dress business casual. Look presentable. I know it's hard. People are losing their jobs. There's a lot of uncertainty out there. You have to wear a mask, or at least you're supposed to. You have to stay six feet away from people, or at least you're supposed to.

But understand that the law firm that represents you, and how you handle yourself, in many ways, is the only way the district attorney is going to know anything about you. It's the only way the judge is going to formulate any opinion about you, how you handle yourself in front of him or her. So, keep that in mind. Don't lessen your standards, whether it's your own standards or whether it's a law firm you hired to represent, you because of what's going on in the outside world. If my firm could be of any assistance to you or a loved one, moving forward, please give us a call at 619-295-3555.
