I am Kurt from www.AmazingHerbGarden.com and welcome to another video
In part 1 I have made a video about sowing the basil seeds into soil in a plastic tray.
In part 2 of growing basil from seeds, I will show you the growth of the sprouts, repotting the you basil plants and the further development of the plants into stronger and bigger plants.
So this is where we left off in the previous video.
By offering enough light, at room temperature and keeping the soil lightly moist the sprouts are quickly developing and appearing at the surface.
Now it is time to repot the young basil plants into individual pots, to encourage further development. For this I will use my own made potting mix, plastic cups, and some plastic trays.
As always don’t forget to drill holes in the cups, this will allow for bottom watering later
This time, I will start 18 cups with small basil plants.
The first step is filling the cups with my potting mix,
I don’t push the soil very firmly, I like it to remain loose a bit, so I will just gently push it
Before replanting I prefer to moisten the soil a bit, this allows the soil to split easier.
And i can start splitting the plants into small individual plants
I use a pencil to create some space in the central part of the cups and that is where i will place the individual plants.
And this is the final result, 18 individual plants ready to develop.
As I said I use the plastic trays for bottom watering
Here is the second timelapse of the development of the basil plants
