The CD strings are made using a special synthetic rubber loaded with metal powder. In order to install it properly, one should remember that a rubber always sticks on the nut and behaves in different way than a wound or gut string, that it is stiffer and slippering.
The right procedure is to tune the string out of the nut-slot, stretch it and then, after stabilization, put in into the slot.
