Description from the creator

I run into lots of termite damaged houses during my home inspections in Louisville, KY. Here you can see what a bad termite infestation can do if left untreated. When you are shopping for your new house. Look closely at the floor joist in the basement. Doing a bit of pre-inspection on things can save you a lot of time and money.

Termites in my area of Louisville, KY build shelter tubes once they come up from the earth. These guys are called subterranean termites. These tubes are made of dirt/mud (that is why we call them mud tubes.) They travel through these tubes and eat the wood structure of the house. If you catch them early enough, you can typically save the structure of the house from major damage.

If termites are found, a soil flood treatment around the perimeter of the house is done to kill the colony and keep them away for about 10 yrs. Lots of homes have termites return years after treatment. Visit abihomeservices.com/ for more great info.
