How to make an altered book art journal

Altered books are one of my all time favourite journals. Since the next Get Messy season (020! Season of Play) is using an altered journal, I prepared!

I'm using an old (not quite vintage) garden book that I found abandoned.

I go through tearing out pages and covering the outside and inside cover to make it more my style. I didn't gesso or cut any pages out, I'll do that as needed.
