Description from the creator

A science hobbyist's step-by-step guide to preparing and pouring agar for use in mycology and microbiology study. If you're curious and want to learn more about starting fungi spores on agar, then this is a good video to start with. The same procedure could be used for bacteria, molds and yeasts.

You'll watch me carry out two simultaneous malt extract agar (MEA) procedures from start to finish, prep, and pour twenty 60mm x 10mm culture plates. The setup on the video's right will utilize cheaper and more amateur equipment for someone on a budget. The setup on the video's left will use slightly more advanced lab equipment The cheap burner is what I started out with, and the lab hotplate is what I use now. I forgot to mention that the cheap burner could be replaced with a regular stove top burner (keeping things even cheaper).
