How to Read an Audiogram

Hi All!

Hearing test results are shown in an audiogram. You can watch this video to know how to read an audiogram. Audiograms are used to understand the hearing ability of an individual based on sound intensity (including volume and tones) compared to individuals with normal hearing. I'm not an audiologist, I just made this as a quick help. Please consult with your audiologist if you have specific questions regarding your audiogram.

This audiogram overview video covers:
- The audiogram vertical axis - Decibels (dB), what they are, and what thresholds indicate a respective hearing loss
- The audiogram horizontal axis - Hertz (Hz), what Hertz measures and why that is important
- The audiogram Speech Bubble
- What the O's, X's, red and blue mean on the audiogram

By understanding how to read an audiogram, I was able to visually understand my moderate to severe, bilateral hearing loss. I hope this helps you! Don't forget to share in the comments below who you're learning to read an audiogram for.
