Description from the creator

Hey all! Happy Hump Day!

Today marks 20 days since I've been back in the US, and I already bought my next ticket to Japan... Can't keep a good thing away I guess :P But with Japan fresh on my mind, and the count down beginning, the language has also been a fresh thought.

With that being said, today's video is one I've wanted to do since I started the channel, since I get asked by the weeb's of the internet on the daily, and that's "How can I read manga in Japanese?", and I'll one up them with "Without being fluent"!

That's right, you don't need to be fluent to read manga in Japanese, but it will take some more effort on your part! Grab some pencil's, highlighters and sticky notes; because we're about to get real knowledge-y up in this piece.

I'll state this disclaimer here also: I'M NOT FLUENT. But to prove my point more, the ONLY manga I read now is in Japanese, so yes this is possible. If you're really devoted, it won't even take you that long. I've been learning Japanese both in and outside of Japan, and for a decently long time now, so I'm no teacher; just another fan of this amazing language :)

If you have any questions about my method, or about Japanese in general I'm answering ALL questions in the comment section! Don't hesitate, there are no bad questions, just me struggling to figure out an okay answer!

I hope this helped, and if it did please LIKE the video, and if you want more content like this, SUBSCRIBING to my channel helps me loads!

HELPFUL APPS:
Kana (iPhone) - Teaches you the stroke order, pronunciation, and even some basic words to memorize your hiragana and katakana.

Memrise (iPhone & Android) - Great for forming short and long term memories. Use it for kana or for vocab, works with Genki and Minna No Nihongo books, also.

LINE - What the Japanese use instead of Facebook, make some friends, get a penpal or two, and it'll allow you to text, voice chat, and video call people from Japan.

IMiWA (iPhone & Android) - Japanese Dictionary you can use on or offline. Use stroke order, kanji's or pieces of kanji's, english, romanji, or kana to search the Japanese lexicon. I use this everyday.
