UV bulbs generally have a lifespan of around 12 months- continuous use - and should be replaced accordingly. Obviously, if you’re climate forces you to winterize this filter, and you’re running it only 7, 8, 9 months a year, take that into consideration.

Before getting started, make sure both pump and filter are unplugged.

This will give us access to the UV center. There’s a small single Philips head screw that holds down a rubber gasket- go ahead and unscrew that. Remove the gasket. Now the UV center is fully exposed. Remove four more Phillips head screws and slowly and carefully remove the UV electrical assembly. Remove old UV bulb and replace. Note, when replacing try to use rubber gloves if you have them. This will eliminate the transfer of oil from your hands to bulb. Which can lead to bulb failure.
Now is a good time to inspect the quartz tube, and clean if necessary. Be careful not to lose the O-rings. Wash off any residue on the outside of the quartz sleeve and make certaindry the inside of the quartz tube thoroughly.
Go ahead and reassemble everything in the reverse order it was removed.
