In this video, I shared 5 Ways to save money on clothes. The tips are practical and would help you save so much when shopping: They include:

1. Shop From Your Own Closet
A lot of us tend to buy clothes because we have to and not because we need to. On the other hand, we buy more clothes because the trends keep coming in. One of the best ways to save money on clothes is to shop from your own closet. Select clothes you have not worn in a bit, style and re-wear them differently, this makes a lot of difference in how much you spend on clothes. Imagine, instead of buying a new pair of shorts, turn your old jeans into a summer short for wearing around the house – bang!

2. Unsubscribe From Clothes Retailers Mailing List
This one right here is one of the ways I personally have saved myself from buying, buying and more buying. The reason why retailers want you to sign up is so they can tell you when they have new stuff, when they have sale going on or want to get rid of old collection to make room for the new ones. When the marketing emails drop in your mail box, your natural instinct tend to persuade you to browse through their website and then to buy. If you want to spend less on clothes, unsubscribe from the 10s of mailing list you get from clothing retailers, it helps a lot.

3. Buy One Season Later
Another great way to save money on clothes is to buy one or two seasons later. Here is what I mean: if you can hold on to shop after each season is over, you will be saving so much money. Clothes come in season by season, so for example, the Spring Summer sale have now started making room for Autumn/Winter collection in the shops and online. Retailers try to get rid of sale products and so they reduce the price. Price reduction is what you should be looking for if you have to buy any clothes at all, this way, you save money.

And guess what, the clothes you buy this Summer are almost likely to still be on trend for next Summer, so that is what you need to do if you want to save money………buy late, wear trendy.

4. Thrifting / Second Hand Shops
Just like shops try to get rid of clothes, consumers also try to get rid of clothes to make room for new ones in their closet. if you are one who is on a budget or want to save money on clothes, check out the charity shops, popularly known as the thrift shops. A lot of times in charity shops, you get barely worn and new pieces for less than the fraction of the price you pay in store. Imagine buying a lovely blouse for $2 in a thrift shop. So, buy them, bring them home to wash, iron and wear.

5. Swap Parties
There are a lot of people who coordinate swap parties. They invite people to bring what they have in their closet and in the party, they swap (exchange) them for equivalent pieces with other swap party attendees. The ideal is that you bring what you don’t want anymore for what you like and voila, you have new clothes without spending a dime.
