Speech and language development has a huge impact on your whether or not your child is biting. Children with language delay are more inclined to bit more often because they have difficulty communicating their wants and needs.

- More common with boys
- Biting is common between ages 1-2 (if persist after this please talk to your doctor)
- Biting may be due to attention, fear, sadness, or frustration
- Biting objects is part of learning and exploring
- Biting may be due to cause/effect

You can HELP STOP BITING:
- React in a calm, consistent, and firm manner
- Redirect
- Show empathy to person who has been bitten
- Teach what it mean to "hurt"
- Praise for apologies

If you feel your child may not be getting enough sleep schedule an appointment with your doctor today!

My goal is to help prepare you to teach your children at home. This will help your child learn new skills, enforce learning skills from school at home, prepare your child for pre-school, and more.
