UPDATE: First-aid guidance for snake bites has changed since this video was recorded. Suction/extractor kits are no longer recommended — studies show they remove essentially no venom — and tourniquets or compression cuffs should not be used for U.S. snake bites. Current guidance: keep the person calm and completely still, immobilize the limb, remove jewelry before swelling, and call 911 — antivenom at a hospital is the treatment.
