Description from the creator

In this homedax.com tutorial, we will show you how to upload a new listing into MLS Long Island Stratus.

Stratus is the interface used to add listings into the MLSLI database We're currently logged in and we're looking at the listings page so if you're on the listings page you would click on add/edit or if you're on a different page you can just navigate to this toolbar on the left and click on the add/edit button right here. On the next page you're going to start filling in the listing details.

Now it's very very important that you select the right class when it comes to the property type. If you're listing a house it's essential that you click on residential. If you click on the wrong button such as a condo button in the future you will not be able to fix the listing type and you'll have to contact MLS Long Island and ask them to manually delete your old listing.

So just to summarize if you're uploading a house make sure you click on class residential. If you're uploading a condominium or a co-op or anything with an HOA that is like an apartment say you would click on the condo co-op HOA button. Furthermore if you're listing a condo or a co-op you would want to specify whether it's a condo or a co-op in this second section here.

In this case we're uploading a house a multi-family house so the class type is going to be residential. The next step is to select the county in this case we are in Queens County so we would select Queens and then we would click continue. You do have the option to link the property to a public record. You can do this for everything except for a co-op.

So we can go ahead and try to do this the interface is a little bit complex but don't be afraid you would just start by searching be basically searching the address. So the address here is 6455 Madison and Ridgewood. So in the town we'll type in Ridgewood right there and the owner's last name is Chan.

So we'll put in Chan and let us see if that gives us sufficiently small amount of results for us to go through. So click on submit on the top right and fortunately it looks like the listing is here. So it's 6455 Madison Street this is the correct property. So we'll check the box here and then we would click on the link with listing button down here at the bottom.

Now on this page most of the information here is auto-populated so unless you see any mistakes you would go ahead and just click continue. On the next page for privacy you'll want to put public and then we can go ahead and start filling in all the information. Now as far as the fields are concerned we need to fill in everything that has an asterisk next to it.

So anything else that is not asterisks is not a required field. So for starters if we're gonna find the cross street we would just open up Google Maps and here we can just type in the address in order to find the cross street. Computer is a little bit slow but we'll continue. In this case the cross street appears to be 64th Street.

So we can go ahead and put 64th Street here and then as far as the school district is concerned one easy way to find that if you're uploading a listing in Queens is to just go on to StreetEasy and to search the address of the property. Let's just give it a minute to load. So if you type it in the search bar go ahead and click search.

It will show you right here the property so if you click on the property and scroll down it's gonna tell us the School District lower down on the page here we go so under schools you see district 24. Now one thing to keep in mind is you actually already see the listing for this property even though we haven't uploaded it to MLS Long Island and that's because we've also uploaded the listing to another portal which is the RLS broker database through in this case the RealtyMX software.

So the correct one is right here 6455 Madison. If you click on the address it will give you an option on the top right to send it. So if you click send it'll give you a pop-up and you would include the name say the name of the owner if there's another listing agent working with you on it maybe you can send it to them.

Always a good idea to update the subject possibly the address would be helpful and then you would click send and then it would automatically send out an email to any of the recipients. If you have any questions about the upload process leave us a comment below the video it is a pretty complex software and that being said we suggest that you watch this video at least two times and really do make sure that you've included the necessary checks towards the end specifically checking that buyer agent Commission making sure it's the same as what's in the listing agreement checking the price making sure the photos are in the right order and you should be good to go.
