How to Watch Japanese TV Anywhere Free

Hi Welcome to the James and Japan Channel. This is my first video and Im very excited to share some knowledge and discuss all topics of Japan. I want to answer all questions you may have about Japan and hope to create a community of people who enjoy the country!

Todays video, I will share how to watch Japanese TV even if you are not living in Japan and some of these options are for free. The first three Ill talk about are more well known and after those Ill speak about the more secret ones.

Netflix Japan
The first one is Netflix Japan! I didn’t know this for a while but Netflix offers a different library of videos based on your country. If you live outside of Japan, you can get a VPN and switching your location to an IP address in Japan. Its safe and legal by the way. The shows and movies have at least Japanese and English subtitles on most videos. Whats great about it is that you have a Netflix subscription then you don’t need to purchase anything else.

Similar to Netflix Japan there is Amazon Japan. But with Amazon Japan you don’t need to change your location to access their large amount of shows and TV. They have thousands of TV Shows and movies in shown in high quality. Its great to watch newly released shows and movie. If you want access to the content, you can just signup for a month free trail and decide if you like it.

Next, is Youtube. Similar to Netflix, you can change your location with a VPN to access Japanese video recommendations on your feed. There is features that shows the most trending videos in music, gaming and anything you can imagine. You also don’t need the VPN and can access Japanese videos if you know what you are interested to look for. If you are interested to follow the news, there is a Live 24 hours Japanese news cast from Ann News CH and Ill put the link in the description!

I personally use youtube to watch Japanese News and music videos. If you have any videos you recommend or looking for something new to watch let me know in the comments!

The next ones are less known as they are difficult to find but Ill share them.

TBS and NHK
If you are very keen on keeping up to date on Japanese news, there is TBS at news.tbs.co.jp and NHK news at nhk.or.jp
TBS and NHK are the two most well known TV news channel and their website offers many ways to watch their content. They cover everything from Japanese sports to the economy all for free! My favorite is to watch the news summaries where recap what is going into specifically focused one minute segments.
NHK does offer a premium package that provides access to exclusive content.

Asahi News
Sometimes you may be interested to read articles in addition to watching videos then Asahi News may be the perfect match for you! You can access their site at news.tv.asahi.co.jp.

If you are interested to watch Japanese dramas but don’t know where to look outside of the main sites you know of such as Netflix and Amazon. You can watch at cu.ntv.co.jp and Tver.jp. They both offer the newest Japanese dramas episodes on a regular schedule and in high quality.

Even though I live in Tokyo, I am originally from the United States and a popular show their is QVC which they consistently show new products for purchase. Well.. There’s actually a Japanese QVC where they do the same thing! You can access it at QVC.jp and watch new Japanese products being shown in real time and the entire setup is quite entertaining.

Lastly, if you are interested in finding a single platform that offers multiple channels you can find them at www.keylabo.com/watch/ tv online for free/ You can watch the most up to date news from your computer or phone for FREE! I don’t have a TV so when I wake up and want to watch learn what is going on the news I just go to this site!

If you found these useful please considering subscribing to the channel! I will release videos regularly and I want you to be a part of it. Thanks for listening!
