How To Winterize A Pressure Washer | Clean Pro Exteriors
ChannelClean Pro ExteriorsDescription from the creator
See how to prepare your pressure washer pump for the winter. Great for those who work during the winter season!
During the early and late part of my winter season here in North Carolina, the temperature is conducive for pressure washing during the day, but freezing at night. Winterizing your pressure washing pump each night through this simple process will allow you to keep working during this time.
So that I can perform my job during the day, I have to make sure my pressure washer pump is protected during the night. That is why I have developed this low cost mechanism for easily winterization each night so that it's ready for me in the morning.
It's very easy and fast.
Start by going to Lowes and buying the air compressor fittings show in this video. The total cost will be about $10. With your hose still connected, hook it up to the inlet of your pump (mine being a Cat Pump but yours may be something else, but it shouldn't matter), then hook it up an air compressor and all the water will but flushed out of the pump and hose.
Next, disconnect the pressure washing hose and give the pressure washer a couple of pulls, but don't allow it to crank. This will drain out any remaining water.
Lastly, connect the Pump Saver from Briggs & Stratton to the inlet of your pressure washer pump and press the button until you see the fluid coming out of the outlet.
At that point you know your pressure washer pump is winterized and ready for the winter season. The great thing about it is that you can use this method each night so that on warmer days you can break your pressure washer out and keep working. This will allow you to get some extra work in even during the cold season.
The can is able to be used multiple times so the it is cost effecive.
