How to Write a Mission Statement for Your Nonprofit

If you're looking for advice on how to write a mission statement for your nonprofit, watch this video!

When people ask you, "so what does your nonprofit do?", you should be prepared to recite your mission statement. Watch this video to learn how to write a mission statement for your new nonprofit, using my 3-part formula for creating a great mission statement. Mission statements set the tone for your organization, and it's the clue to the outside world of who you are, what you do and why you exist. Your mission statement is different from your vision statement, which shows the ultimate goal of your nonprofit. Your mission statement may go through several iterations, but it's important that everyone in your organization is clear on what your mission is. Make sure the mission is impactful and indicates the "why" of your work.
