First things first, I’m explaining what an antagonist is, what a villain is, and the difference between an antagonist and a villain. An antagonist is someone who antagonizes the protagonist. A villain also creates conflict, but they’re much, much worse and often have sinister intentions. So we’re talking about how to make your villain a worthy opponent, how to give your villain a believable motivation, and the importance of remembering that your villain is human (Unless they aren’t human… In that case, the advice still applies.
