Description from the creator

This garden spider (Argiope aurantia) was at risk of being clobbered by contractors, so I decided to collect and relocate her. Here is how you do it. The spiders aren't always this cooperative, but you should always be able to coax them onto a stick that you put in a jar.

This technique mainly works with large orbweavers, which prefer to climb to a high spot when they detect danger. Smaller orbweavers often instantly drop to the ground. In those case, I first try putting a car below the spider and then blowing on the spider. Usually she'll drop straight into the jar.
