How do you choose the best dry dog food when you are at the store? Are you just buying the same old stuff your dad bought?

Choosing a good dog food is critical to your dog's health, longevity, and energy. It is not something that you should be doing based just on the latest sale.

But, do you really have to spend top dollar or Bitcoin to provide the best for your dog?

In this video, I am going to lay out what makes good dry dog food and how you can determine whether or not food from the shelf makes the cut for your retriever. Getting your dog a good balanced diet is really important for your dog's day-to-day health as well as the overall wellness of your dog in the long run.

To summarize, you should be looking for a food that provides 20-25% of your dog's calories from quality protein sources and 10-15% from natural fat sources. The rest will come from carbohydrates that provide a complex carb rather than simple carbs like fillers and sugars.

You know that you can spend a lot of money on dry dog food. Some special order brands can be more than $100, but do you really need that to ensure that your dog is getting the necessary nutrition?

Not really.

Let me explain what essential fatty acid you dog cannot create on its own and what ingredients will make sure your dog gets enough. I am also going to lay out the difference between a quality protein and garbage that some companies put in their food just to increase the protein without giving your dog the necessary amino acids for healthy muscles.
