Don't be afraid to clip your cat's claws. As long as you only clip the white/clear part and stay clear of the red vein part, you're good. You SHOULDN'T try to clip the entire white part, only clipping about half works fine. Indoor cats like mine have an especially hard time naturally wearing down their claws so clipping the very ends of their front claws occasionally solves this issue.
