There are a few ways to determine the gender of Angel fish. Usually they are identified by the shape of their head, lower body, and when they are ready to spawn. It is difficult to determine the gender of angel fish when they are young. They need to be atleast 8 - 10 months old. The more matured the Angel fish the more easier it is to identify their gender.
