Description from the creator

Did your cat just eat a poisonous lily plant or human medication? In this video, Dr. Justine Lee, veterinary specialist, discusses the dangers of poisoning in cats. Unfortunately, there is NOTHING at home that you can safely give to your cat to induce vomiting at home (as compared to dogs, where we can given 3% hydrogen peroxide). That's because hydrogen peroxide can result in severe side effects (e.g., hemorrhagic gastritis).

If your cat got into something poisonous, you need to get to your veterinarian or emergency veterinarian immediately for us to induce vomiting with safer, more effective medication (e.g., called alpha adrenergic agonists such as dexmedetomidine/Dexdomitor). When in doubt, contact your veterinarian, your emergency veterinarian, or the non-profit ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at 888-426-4435 for life-saving advice 24/7.
