How to Leave Your Puppy Home Alone | Chewy

Want to learn how to leave your puppy home alone? Well, we’re here to help make puppy separation anxiety a thing of the past. Whether your puppy is destructive or disruptive when left home alone, at Chewy.com we’ve got all the tips to show you how to calm your dog when you’re away. Take your pup on an outside adventure for 30 minutes of exercise. The goal is to get that potty break in and energy out! With all that healthy-pup mental and physical stimulation, he’ll be too tired to even notice you’re gone. Next stop– the puppy zone. A dog play pen and a potty pad away from the dog crate will teach him to keep to his home squeaky clean. A paw-fect activity for your new pup is chewing on puppy toys stuffed with his favorite puppy treats. If you’re looking for dog interactive toys, KONG toys for dogs are a great choice to keep your fur baby’s heart and tummy happy while you’re gone. Another trick that is sure to calm a dog down are hooking up dog speakers. Turn up the tunes and reduce your puppy’s separation anxiety with calming dog music. The hardest part about how to leave your puppy home alone? The departure. But, don’t let that sweet puppy face get to you. Back away slowly and let your new pup know you mean business. Head to work or make grocery runs in peace without any worry that your favorite pair of boots will a midday puppy snack. Be sure to reward him on your return with more puppy treats and congratulate him on a job well done. Once you have these dog separation anxiety training steps down pat, you’ll know how to leave your puppy home alone.

Confident pups are the happiest pups. Say goodbye to puppy separation anxiety.
