How to look after a fledgling

Please dont pick up fledglings! (baby birds that have just left the nest) Their mum & dad are close by waiting for you to go away. If you are worried about cats place the baby bird in a flower pot with some kitchen towel in the bottom and place up in a bush or hedge, mum and day will hear it and feed it. They only take a day to get strength to keep up with parents and follow them- please dont phone the local rescue centre and expect them to have it, they have enough to do without baby birds that dont need to be taken to them- Pigeon babies & rooks are different, if they are on the floor they will die if not fed- the parents will not feed them on the floor, so you must feed them in the same way but more food- look for the pigeon tutorial.
