Description from the creator

In this video, I look at a couple of dye effects. The first is the fade, where one color fades into another. Several examples are shown. A marbled piece is done, as well as a splatter piece. On each workpiece, more than one dye color is used. The pieces used in the video are aluminum thin wall tubing. Each piece is 18mm diameter and about 10cm long, like a small battery tube for a laser or flashlight project. These were not brought to a high polish prior to anodizing. They were given a brushed finish on the lathe with an abrasive fine grit pad. They were degreased and given a quick 30 second sodium hydroxide (drain cleaner crystals) etch and then a water wash as prep.
