As of Android Shield TV 7.0.2, Chrome, Firefox or Opera won't show as installed app. You can use the Nvidia Shield remote, press the mike button and say "Open" followed by the name of the browser you want to open to be able to use the browser. As of 9/1/18, All three of these browsers show as an "incompatible app" for the Nvidia Shield in the Google Play store. I have Shield Android TV v8.0.0, Shield Android TV SW Version 7.0.2 installed at the time this video is being produced. Hopefully this will change in time.
Another option is to install an app called "Sideload Launcher". This app installs an icon for itself on the main Nvidia Shield page under apps. Clicking on that icon will allow you to access all of the apps that you have installed using "Downloader" and that don’t show up on the main Nvidia screen. If you don’t find Sideload Launcher in your Google playstore on the Nvidia Shield, you can use the following link from a computer to get it pushed out to your Nivida Shield.
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainf…
