How to close apps or programs in Windows 8.1 properly?

I found several ways to close apps or programs in Windows 8.1. (using pro version in the video). However, if you close them, they are still running in the system, you can actually check this on Task Manager.

0:40 Hover the apps icon on Taskbar, and click the X button - will be closed but still actually running.
