In today's tutorial, we will teach you how to disable google chrome auto update.
Open Google Chrome browser. Go to the right top corner and click on the three dots. Choose 'Help' and go to 'About Google Chrome'. You will see the latest installed version of the browser and if it is up to date.
Open 'File Explorer'. Go to 'This PC' on the left side menu. Click on your system disk. Go to 'Program files'. Open 'Google' folder. Go to 'Update' folder. Right-click on the 'Google-update' file and choose 'Delete'.
Go back to the Google Chrome. Reload the page. It will check for updates. You will see a message 'An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start'. That's it!
To turn the updates back on, go to the 'File Explorer'. Open the '1.3.33.5' folder. Right-click on the 'Google-update' file and choose 'Copy'. Go back and 'paste' the file. Click 'Continue'. Go back to the Google Chrome. Reload the page. It will check for updates. You will see the latest installed version of the browser and it is up to date.
