Description from the creator

On July 23, 2019, the FAA opened up the LAANC system for recreational pilots. What that means is that a hobbyist can now request authorization to fly in controlled airspace. That's the airspace generally within 5 miles of an airport with a control tower.

In this video I try using two of the three iPhone apps available at this time. Kittyhawk (now known as Aloft) and Airmap and walk you through the process of requesting authorization.

Kittyhawk and Airmap/Aloft both have great tutorials on how to use their apps for LAANC authorization on their websites if you are looking for more information.
