Description from the creator

HOW DO YOU GET ENOUGH VITAMIN D WHEN THERE IS NO SUN!?
Why do we need Vitamin D? How much Vitamin D does sunlight give us? How can we get more vitamin D in our diet?

Here is the Vitamin D supplement that I take: FarmHaven Vitamin D + Magnesium

This product offers a perfect combination of magnesium glycinate and magnesium malate, as well as a daily dose of Vitamin D to lower stress levels, support heart, muscle and nerve functioning while preventing the symptoms of anxiety and depression. They are also 100% vegan :)

Vitamin D is actually not a vitamin, it is a hormone that does a lot of things in your body, but it mainly helps your intestines absorb calcium, magnesium and phosphate, which are all super important minerals. Vitamin D is produced naturally in your skin when exposed to sunlight…but in Winter a lot of people don’t get enough sunlight and they are deficient in vitamin D. In fact, approximately 1 billion people are deficient worldwide, are you one of them??? A deficiently in Vitamin D can result in fatigue, weak immune system and depression!

This is because Vitamin D goes inside your cells and interacts with your DNA to up regulate the expression of genes that regulate neurotransmitter levels like dopamine and serotonin. If you don’t get enough Vitamin D, these neurotransmitter levels become reduced, leading to symptoms of depression. Therefore, by increasing your Vitamin D intake, you can boost serotonin and dopamine levels to improve your mood and treat your depression.

You can consume Vitamin D in your diet. Fatty fish, beef liver and eggs all contain Vitamin D…but I’m not super keen on eating liver or fish either, so I am definitely going to be taking Vitamin D supplements for a while. If you don’t get much sunlight, or you are a vegetarian or vegan, you should definitely consider taking a Vitamin D supplement. If you’re in the sun a lot and you eat plenty of fish and liver, you’re probably fine!
