Description from the creator

A video showing how to download the Heysen Trail GPS files (.gpx), and load onto older handheld GPS units, such as the Garmin eTrex or GPSmap 60CX units. This needs to be done via a program such as Garmin's Basecamp (free). Modern handheld GPS units, like the Garmin Oregon or Dakota series, accept the .gpx file natively without the need for the transfer to be done via the Basecamp program - refer to youtube.com/watch?v=S9XMSYHF0WE

Please note this video does not apply to the the newest eTrex series, the eTrex 10, 20 and 30 units, refer to the easier method used in the Garmin Oregon video: youtube.com/watch?v=S9XMSYHF0WE

Garmin's free Basecamp program can be downloaded at www8.garmin.com/support/mappingsw.jsp (PC and Mac versions)

This video also shows how the Heysen Trail GPS file is displayed on the GPS unit, with GPS unit screenshots. Further reading, a How-to guide for using GPS files hiking, can be found at heysentrail.asn.au/assets/trailwalker/How-to_us…

The GPX file for the Heysen Trail can be downloaded at heysentrail.asn.au/heysen_trail/maps.php
