In this video I show how to make a sparkler. I use potassium nitrate as the oxidizer and sugar as the fuel. I also added excess aluminum to make it burn brighter with sparks. Sulfur was added to make it burn faster as well. The method I used to apply the composition to the wood was not very good, and I would suggest using water and making it slightly damp so that it sticks on. Then let it dry and it should work very well. Make sure there are no gaps between the fuel and the wooden stick so that it does not have an accelerated burn time like I had in the video.
