How to make iPhone RINGTONE on macOS Catalina!

Learn how to make iPhone ringtone on macOS Catalina in this easy tutorial. You can make ringtone on newly released macOS Catalina using Finder app and Music app. iTunes is no longer available for making ringtone on macOS Catalina. The ringtone making method remains the same, only difference is, now you have to switch between two apps for making iPhone ringtone. So, in case if you have just bought a new iPhone, you can follow this ringtone making tutorial and make any iPhone song your ringtone on macOS Catalina.

STEP 1: Connect iPhone to Mac using lightning connector & launch Finder app on your Mac. Under Locations, look for your iPhone model.

STEP 2: Make sure Manually manage music, films and TV programmes is check marked. Now, launch Music app and select Songs option on the left hand side panel. Select the song from your library, right click and tap Get Info. Then select Option.

STEP 3: Change the STOP and START time. Make sure that the total length of the ringtone is max. 30 seconds. Now mark checkboxes next to the Start and Stop times and tap OK.

STEP 4: Now keep the song selected, and go to File - Convert, and select Create AAC Version. Right click on the new AAC version song and select Show in Finder. The new song will show up in your Finder app with .m4a file extension.

STEP 5: Copy this song to desktop.

STEP 6: Delete AAC version of the song from Music Library before you add ringtone to iPhone.

STEP 7: Rename File Extension of the file from .m4a to .m4r (Do not rename the file name). Select USE .M4R when warning is prompted.

STEP 8: Now select iPhone in Music app and drag this ringtone from desktop to your iPhone. And if dragging doesn’t work, you can also COPY & PASTE the ringtone file from desktop to your iPhone.

STEP 9: That’s all! The new ringtone can be found on your iPhone under Settings - Sounds & Haptics - Ringtone.
