Chapter 4: Wrapping instruments for sterilization with a sealing device in sterilization pouches

The correct packaging of instruments when using a bar sealing device requires that clinic personnel comply with the following requirements.
1. The foil side of the sterilization pouch must face upwards during the sealing procedure.
2. The instrument must be free of soiling and must not fill more than 75 % of the pouch.
3. The total weight of the packaging must not exceed 3 kg.
4. The overlap after the seal seam must exceed 1 cm.
5. Comply with the peel direction when opening the sterilization packaging.
