How to Prepare and Pour an Agarose Gel - Plus Speed Tips

Today we're going to go over something that is a hallmark of modern molecular biology: pouring an agarose gel. Ok, I know, it's really not that challenging or exciting or super cutting edge, but hopefully in this video I can show you some of the tricks I use to rapidly make and pour an agarose gel, so you can get on to more exciting things!

To start, we'll go over the super precise, by the book way to make and pour an agarose gel that will give you ultra repeatable results, and will please even the most exacting PI.

To begin, you will need the following:
1. A microwave safe flask or beaker
2. TAE/TBE Buffer
3. Agarose
4. A balance
5. Plastic Wrap
6. Thick gloves or pot holders
