How to remove the green screen using Gimp 2020

Here is a quick tutorial on how to remove the green screen from an image using the latest version of Gimp.

Using this method you can cut yourself from the green background and put a totally different background behind yourself.
This is using Gimp version 2.10.12.

This technique can be very useful if you create thumbnails, want to work on photography and want to just generally practice getting a cleaner cut when removing the green screen.
