Description from the creator

If you've ever had the unfortunate experience of spilling a drink on your smartphone, you know that dreaded feeling. It's the "What do I do now" moment. Well, fear not. We've got a couple of solutions for you. One is an effective do it yourself technique. The other is a silica gel product specifically designed do draw moisture out of electronics.

First off, here's a quick rundown of the initial steps you should take when your phone gets wet.

1 Take it out of the water... duh.

2 Power it off and dry the outside of the phone as thoroughly as possible with a soft towel.

3 Take off the case, remove the battery cover, battery and sim card. Drying everything with a towel along the way.

4 Open up any coverings, plugs etc

5 If you have access to a vaccum, try using that to pull moisture out. Never use a hairdryer.

Now, the tough part. Getting the moisture out of our devices. To do this we need to leave the wet phone in a sealed container with a moisture absorbing substance. The DIY method is to seal some dry, uncooked rice in a bag with your wet gizmo. But if you're willing to invest a few bucks to save your smartphone you can use the Bheestie bag, which uses silica beads to draw the moisture out.
