Description from the creator

Students from the University of Puerto Rico Aguadilla show us how to arrange the elements of the periodic table using 5 key properties—atomic radius, density, atomic mass, melting point, and electronegativity. Each student is given a few element cards, and asked to place them within a partially set periodic table. Strategically-placed element cards serve as a guide, while the property values for each element provide the clues. Once placed, students flip the cards to reveal the name and atomic number of each element. Then they compare their element placement to a real periodic table to find out how well they arranged their cards. Download, print, and cut out cards to create and set your own periodic table at acs.org/iypt.
